Lois Louise Cooper

Lois Louise Cooper, age 89, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died on October 22, 2020 in Sault Ste. Marie. She was born to John and Viola (Levictor) Bernard on May 14, 1931 in Pickford Township, Michigan. Lois grew up in Barbeau, Michigan and Sault Ste. Marie and attended school locally. She met John William Cooper while he was at the Kincheloe Air Force Base. She moved to Indiana, married John, and they had two children. They moved back to Michigan, first to Grand Rapids and then to Sault Ste. Marie in 1986. She worked at the Gateway Bowling Alley and family restaurants between Indiana and Grand Rapids. She also worked the Pickford route for Steel Sanitation, for over twenty years. Lois loved playing cribbage with the Sault Ste. Marie League and never missed a day of Bingo. She also enjoyed her trips to the Casino, dancing, fishing, watching boats. She also loved going to yard sales and flea markets. Lois is survived by her children, Duane Cooper of Brookville, Indiana, Gary Cooper of Greenville, Michigan, Tim Cooper of Greenville, Michigan, Linda C. Cooper of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, James (Judi) Cooper of Manistique, Michigan, and Renee Bernard of Jackson, Michigan; grandchildren, Jason Cooper, Joshua (Jill) Bills, Kurt Bills II, Jacob Cooper, Christopher Cooper, Kevin Cooper, Ashley Cooper, Heather Cooper, Krystal Johnson, Justin Duncan, Cecila Cooper, Roxann Cooper, Trenton Cooper, and Sonia Hunt; great-grandchildren, James, Skyler, Nicole, Isaiah, Aurora, Brayden, and Cloud; siblings, Stanley Bernard, Robert (Marlene) Bernard, Ruben (Barb) Bernard, Anna Smith, Violet Parcher, and Rosemarie Renalds; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents John and Viola; great-grandson, Talos Bills; sister-in-law, Alice Bernard; and brothers-in-law, Bob Smith and Billy Parcher.
